Wired cakes and wireless cookies

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2005

And there I’m back and relaxed after that days of hard work. The Weeekend was full of nice events. I met my cousin, and there was long time no see. She now lives in a small nice flat in Muenster with a very kind cohabitant, named Caroline. I had a long talk with her about DRM and RFID, its political influence and the social problems ascending from it. Its been a long time since i talked that free and open to someone wthout hving to fear being misjudged as someone who only focuses on small problems making them more important thant they are. Its been very nice to know that there are still people out there in the normal world of insanity, who are wondering about those things and know about the problems coming along with technology.

Then yestersay i tried out the DLink Wireless Equiptment, I bought for a small price. I wodered if the reception range given by D-Link for outdoor use was really 300 Meters. I installed the Test equip at my window and walked away with my notebook along the street. I measured the signal with a Cisco Aitonet 350, having a Ping running and chatting over SSH. I was 330 Meters away when the signal got unuseable first. Later me and Dominik installed it on his roof and measured 470 Meters with working and useable connecions using the shipped Dlink DWL-650+. Thise Devices are Crappy but have a lot of power :).

Today i’m going to visit my friend Carolin. She has birthday today and i bake a cacke foer her with all the stuff she likes. I really hope it tastes good. It was not much work but you don’t want to see the kitchen, when i worked there before. its like nuclear wasteland ;). So i had a lot of ceaning to do. Additionally il cut a small cherry tree purch from our tree and plant it into a nice pot. I hope she likes that.

But that wil all happen after work, which is 4:00pm. Now it 9:28am and theres still a lot of work to be done.

See you all, things are getting better. Theres nothing to fear about, even if theres trouble, everything gonna be alright. I’m sure about that.

CeBit and all the things among

Wednesday, March 16th, 2005

If theres a god, whz doesn’t he prevent people not knowing anything and not willing to learn to got to gatherings like the Cebit? I was there sunday, together with Dominik, Michael, his father, who runs a TV-Shop and a coworker of his father. We talked to people who had interesting projects, gathered some informational materials and saw too many people, that were only aming on the goodies, the exhibitors gave away. Its terrible.

Among that Dominik and I donated some Euros to the Debian Project and got honored by Tolimar, one exhibitor at the Debian booth. He performed an accolade on me, by putting an debian lanyard keychain on me. I really like those ;)

Apart from the Cebit, not many things are happening, apart from me being irritated by all myself. I just feel not like being me at the moment. Perhaps I just miss the feeling of beig in love again or I am to resignated to really feel that. Its all work at the moment and much stress there, so my feelings hardly find any time to come trough… perhaps I start writing poetry again these days. Its been a while.

So be all well my friends, its time to leave. Its past 21:00 and i haven’t had lunch yet.

Yesterday, I was at Landschaftspark Nord, an abandoned industrial place, where, some years ago, the chimmneys of four furnaces where smoking. This time, the provincial government and the government of duisburg has allowed an artist, named Jonathan Park, to install a beatiful lightshow that glowes into the night on weekends. I’m there with some friends sometimes to make pictures, just relax in the silence, watching the old metal witnesses of earlyer times, imagining workers walking around at this place.
Sadly we could not get onto one of the furnaces, because they’re all icy and it was dangerous to climb up. You’ll see some pictures, taken from the ground, on this page, which is my gallery. There are already some of my earlier pictures where I could get onto one of the furnaces. Look for “Industrial” on the second page. As you can see on the dates of these pictures, it’s been a while since I was there and I was a bit nostalgic about going there again, even it’s just ’round the corner (about 50 kilometers). Photographing is something really mystic. If there is a motive that moves you to push the shutter, then it will be right ;)

But now, i’ll go to seek my stars again :) Have a nice week.

Filling gaps

Thursday, March 3rd, 2005

Until now, you might have happened to realize, that this blog is a completely new one from a person that never bloged before. Some people asked me, why to do so, but i really don’t know. Perhaps its just, that I sometimes just have to speak out some things into the crowd.
Currently I’m filling gaps in my mind. Some things and persons very important to me vanished from my field of view. Maybe i’ve to turn ’round to see them again, but should I? I seriously don’t know why and when and how excactly things happened, so maybe its better for everyone to stay like now. Perhaps it happened on purpose.
In the meantime i do, what I always do in those situations. I’m waiting for time to go by and listen to my favorite music. I think there is hardly a better way to get clear with yourself than favorite music and sing along. Writing poetry is some other way, too (www.jpoetry.net is another project of mine). You might jump over and read a bit about me.
But there’s always work to do, so I’m going off to work now. I’ve to open the shop in about 5 Minutes ;).

See you all then, my fellow stars :)

Just tanother day at work

Tuesday, March 1st, 2005

Hi everybody, this is me again. What happened today… was just another day at work. Perhaps you still don’t know where i am working, but ther will be more details, if you read on. Perhaps i’ll be able to make pictures, but probably I wont, because some things are just too scary to look at them.
I am an assistant worker at a computer shop in my hometown. I always do a lot of things there, like today. Caring four our worshiped customers, doing shipping, managing repairs and so on, so today. I’m telling you, you should never, and I say it again just for you, NEVER start working at a company, that sells cheap stuff on Ebay ;), because that can stress you seriously.
Now i’m sitting here in my room and do friendship care over IRC, which can’t sadly be done during work.

See you all then, my fellow stars :)

Human Input Output System

Me and my self found a trace of stupidity in life again! Great, isn’t it? We figured out, that most People just say things to respond to meaningless or senseless comments of other people, just killing time. Why we found that out? Thats pretty easy: Today in our shop, we heard two customers talk. “Hm?” “Nice. Why that?” “Hmm thats a completly diffrent device I think.” “Hm…” “Nice. Why that?”…

And so theres stupidity back on stage again…!

But if i think it over again, I happen to feel like knowing why we do so. Perhaps we just don’t want to feel alone? Or we want to feel important enough, so others would interact with us? Maybe, maybe not.

Till then, I’ll be seeking my stars again.

Painting many strange pictures.

When it comes to that, the drawers of that legendary anime movie are quite phantastic. With every frame, they draw a piece more of the big work of art. They create a world, seeming new, strange and full of love, but also crowded, hasted and labyrinthine. THey have ideas, one shouldn’t just expect. If you would expect them, you where possibly just one of the filmmakers or, maybe you would catch the deeper sense of that movie.
Soundwork is great, especially with earplugs, and lets you get very close to the characters, which make you cry, if you have to leave them in the end of the film. Theres SO MUCH love inside, just beautiful. You should watch it.
Oh… i may have forgotten to tell you the title, its “The Adolescence of Utena” published in 1999 in Europe and the USA, a bit earlier in Japan. And one more thing: You should not watch that movie, if you don’t like homosexuality, women, anime or just short disruptions from the storyline.
