Beauty and her broken things…

Tuesday, February 21st, 2006

Viel Spass, euer Sternensucher

Be my shining star….

Well… this category, as well as the whole blog was unmaintained for a while… but now, I, the Starseeker, will do something, I’ve never done before. Its nothing spectecular but very uncommon for me, since I am reading less books in a year than I own computers… My book recommendation for today is:

Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. In this book, the narrator “Leo” talks about the new girl student at his school… who is really really diffrent from the students, this small highschool has seen before. Her name is “Stargirl”. She dances through her schooldays, entertains everyone with her mysterious way of kindness and happyness and seems to like everyone. Leo, who hopelessly falls in love with her, watches her popularity grow until nearly everyone likes her, imitates her and wants to be like her. She seems to be the only one on the whole school, that lets the very own character out. She is real.
Things suddenly change, when she, without purpose and just because she is just too kind, jurts the pride of all students during a Basketball game.
The book tells the heartrending story about a girl, who just is herself and a boy who can’t decide between being loved by his schoolmates or being loved by Stargirl.

My cousin Carla told me about that book and lend it to me. First, I was a bit sceptic about the storyline, but when I had read the first few pages, I was like trapped in this story. Already the cover picture fascinated my very much. The character Stargirl is the kind of girl I looked for very long. She is a real star… a treasure for everyones life. Its some kind of sad that its just a book. When I was reading it on the train, I was very moved and was about to cry all the time… now, I am still irritated by the shining “Stargirl”… (who really matches my nick… doesn’t she?)

Carrying women aroung, judging their reaction

Strange title, but while I was browsing the blognotes, I took during univerity days, I saw one of my notes with that content. I remember the situation, I wrote that one down in.
Since my heart looks for someone to lean on so painfully soulful, my mnd went crazy. Since there are so many nice women at the university, my mind went even more crazy and invented some strange kind of scoring. Everytime there is someone, who smiles at me or something like that, my mind imagines me, carrying that girl on my arms, watching her face, and returns a score. Most of the time, I have to smirk about that. Sometimes it really makes sense… where is that coming from!?

Help! The Starseeker plays sokoban with his stars!

Music can comfort scars…

… yes it can. Even if that sentence seems to lack sense, it doesn’t. My work ended later than I thought today (who is surprised by that? nobody? well… oh … i’m SO surprised) and I was back at 18:00 instead of 14:00. Now I am sitting here, relaxing to “Tokyodawn Records - Prymer - In our Pockets”. Its a mix I really like, cause it has some really nice parts for dreaming, just sitting there, thinking of nothing or just blog ;). Its surprising, how music can turn your day right. Even if something went wrong, music can just make you forget it all in a flash. I like that feeling a lot and I like my precious earplugs, that I always have with me, and therefore have that feeling with me all the time, always, if I need it.
Netmusic is another beautiful thing. There are people, who just make music, cause they like to. Some like to sing, some like to play with the synthies, some like mastering and some just like giving away hosting space ;). Those people all together make a beautiful community, which produces a lot of music precious to me. Thanks to all the kahvi artists (here), all the thinner sound junkies (here), all the tokyodawn friends (here) and, of cause, Tang Kai of the camomille netlabel (here), who created one of the most beatiful sounds (look for release #67) i’ve ever found on the net.

Have a lot of fun, while traveling my musical dream world. Some of my stars are there :)

Painting many strange pictures.

When it comes to that, the drawers of that legendary anime movie are quite phantastic. With every frame, they draw a piece more of the big work of art. They create a world, seeming new, strange and full of love, but also crowded, hasted and labyrinthine. THey have ideas, one shouldn’t just expect. If you would expect them, you where possibly just one of the filmmakers or, maybe you would catch the deeper sense of that movie.
Soundwork is great, especially with earplugs, and lets you get very close to the characters, which make you cry, if you have to leave them in the end of the film. Theres SO MUCH love inside, just beautiful. You should watch it.
Oh… i may have forgotten to tell you the title, its “The Adolescence of Utena” published in 1999 in Europe and the USA, a bit earlier in Japan. And one more thing: You should not watch that movie, if you don’t like homosexuality, women, anime or just short disruptions from the storyline.
